I have been reluctant to post this blog because it’s just tooting my own horn. But I suppose it’s my horn and I certainly have the right to blow it if I want to. In this particular case, what I really want to do is dance and shout. Why? Because at long last, I have done it. I have finally published a book! I really, really did it. Downloaded the Kindle version immediately, Linda. Very impressed by your marketing page – did you self-publish?

Yes, I did via AmazonKindleDirectPublishing. However, it was NOT easy. (Read my acknowledgements.) There is no one to call/speak to although they do provide written instructions – many, many pages of them. There are also videos that you can watch – but there are several different people doing the videos and they all have a different opinion. It was exasperating. After several months I became despairing. I wanted to spend my time writing – NOT figuring out how to format what I had written. SO, I ended up hiring someone to format my manuscript for me. They were very helpful and I am pleased.
Someone more tech-savvy could probably easily manage it on their own but, sadly, that wasn’t me. Of course, I have friends who offered to help but I certainly would have paid them for their time. And, frankly, even good friends have their own projects to do – in the end it was MY project so I was reluctant to accept their very well-meaning offers.
I am mostly just happy that it’s done. It has been a life long dream. 🙂 Thanks for purchasing. You may have read them as many of them were on my blog. My next book is a work of fiction which is new for me. So stay tuned. 🙂 Thanks again.
